Who doesn’t love to give back to their bodies and practise some self care? I certainly have been making the efforts to really to look after myself and to have self care. Giving yourself a little pamper is a really great thing to keep including in your routine. Taking time out for yourself really helps reduce stress, and looks after your mental health.
So, if you’ve been thinking of giving back to yourself, here are a few places in and around the Bedford area.
1. Lords & Ladies
Lords & Ladies is a beauty and wellbeing salon that has been established for 15 years. They offer everything from waxing to manicure and pedicures, massage and more.
It’s amazing how people can walk into the salon, and a short while later walk out a different person. Clients will always have a private treatment room with relaxing decor and music. We aim to make everyone walk out feeling better than they’ve walked in, no matter what treatment they have had! Something they’re particularly proud of is our ‘therapeutic harmony’ massage treatments. Combining essential elements of Eastern and Western massage techniques, Indian head massage, deep tissue massage and reflexology, the Therapeutic Harmony Massage is their most advanced massage experience.
A deeply therapeutic 85 minute treatment, complete with steam towels to cleanse the feet, heated oil, warm blankets and a specially selected teapigs herbal tea to finish, this really is a massage for all the senses, leaving your body and mind deeply de-stressed and rejuvenated.
They also offer Swedish massage, Indian head, Aromatherapy and Mama Baby Bliss pregnancy massage.
2. Kristina Jayne Makeup & Beauty
Kristina started her business back in October 2019. Based in COX hair, holistic & beauty therapies, she offers so many options. Her nail designs are stunning, and I particularly love the fact that you can pick a ‘mystery nail’, so Kristina picks the design for you!

3. Therapy from Within
Gemma opened her business in April 2021, after being in the making for a few years. Her favourite treatment that she offers is Reiki & Sound Healing. She likes to combine the two together. It is something that she is so passionate about after receiving her own healing before training herself! It is so versatile, suitable for everyone, calm & relaxing with so many healing benefits for emotional, physical & mental health.
Having tried the Reiki treatment myself, this was a super calming experience, I felt a great energy that I’ve never experienced before. Well worth the trip!
4. Liv4Juice
Born from a love and need of natural nourishment Liv4juice was created. Moving from festival sites and large events to serving her local community with a home delivery service. Now set to offer this nationwide!
Liv’s current favourite creation is Orange Bliss Rising. A blend of large succulent oranges, locally farmed carrots, and a hint of ginger infused with beautiful lemon balm. This creation is so uplifting. Feeding her love of herbalism alongside a big boost in vitamins and mineral with this flavoursome, cell illuminating juice ?. A beautiful taste sensation. Having tried this flavour myself, this was definitely a beautiful juice, and I can’t wait to order more.
